In this complicated society that we live in today, we are seeing the power to choose taken away from children with the mass production of toys, full of stereo typing, prejudice, and other limitations. So we decided to go back to the basics in our toy design and use shapes, colours, and textures instead of ready made concepts. This way, we hope to challenge children to seek knowledge and new experiences in their everyday environment.

Fafus design philosophy is based on different theories concerning children and learning. We do relay on Howard Gardner´s Multiple intelligence theory as well as believing Rudolf Steiner´s ideas to be constructive and helpful. We have also enjoyed a professional relationship with Icelandic Hjalli schools built on their own philosophy that strives to increase individuality and decrease gender stereotyping.
